MEPHISTO Biography

MephistoMEPHISTO are born in the summer 2003 from the twisted minds of Bard Manth (nocturnal voice in TRIUMPHATOR (r.i.p.)) and of Zin (bass guitar and lamentation in MALVENTO) as a musical project which pays tribute to the old style thrash/death/black godz like Celtic Frost, Sodom, Venom, Destruction, Kreator, Bathory, Slaughter etc.

In the September 2003, Huntor joined the project as fuckbeating drummer; this formation begins to create the songs.

In the October 2003, Hurne (freezing strings in TRIUMPHATOR (r.i.p.)) joined the band too as bass player. Now the circle is closet.

With this line up, the band recorded the first demo, Tyrant’’s Return in the 2003. This work is featured by strong Black/thrash influences and it was released in tape format by Satanic Supremacy in limited edition (133 copies) and, later, re-released in limited tape format too, by Tour de Garde records. This re-release contains a cover song “F.O.D.” from the Canadian historical thrash metal act Slaughter which was recorded exclusively for this re-release.

Later, a new member joined the band, Nefastus (six strings in PRIMITIVUM) whose duty was to play the guitar. With this line up, the band recorded a Bathory cover song, “Raise the dead” which had been chosen to be part of a tribute compilation to the cult Swedish act.

In the meantime, a tape called “Too loud for hell” went around. This tape contains different versions of the demo songs recorded “live” during the rehearsals in the studio.

In August 2004, the band recorded the first four tracks of the debut full length “Metal of Death” along with a song for the split EP with the Italian band The True Endless, this song is called “Hordes of Hell”.

In March 2005 other eight tracks, which filled the debut album, were recorded. The debut is more thrash metal oriented than the demo, it was released by Bestial Burst Production during July 2005.

In August 2005 the band recorded three tracks (two are unreleased and one is a re-recorded version of “Crucifixion” which was in “Tyrant’’s Return” demo) for the first demo repress on 12″ vinyl.
